Synopsis

Crosland (1865-1924) Was A British Author, Poet And Journalist. An Anti-scottish Tory, Monarchist And Methodist, He Was Among The Most Acerbic Men Of Letters And Journalists Of His Day, Earning His Living As A Fleet Street Reviewer, Critic And Editor For Journals Such As The Outlook, The Academy And The Penny Illustrated Paper. He Was A Close Friend Of Lord Alfred Douglas, Oscar Wilde's Lover, And Became Embroiled In A Bitter Feud With Wilde's Executor Robert Ross, Condemning Wilde's 'de Profundis' In Verse In A Work Entitled 'the First Stone' (1912). He Later Went On To Ghost-write Douglas's Memoir 'oscar Wilde And Myself' In 1914. First Published In 1905, This Satirical Observation Of The Irish Race Follows On From His Previous Works 'the Unspeakable Scot' (1902) And 'the Egregious English' (1903).
