According To 2017 U.s. Census Bureau Estimates, Iowa's Population Has Increased By Almost 100,000 People Since 2010. But All Of That Growth Has Gone To 10 Urban And Suburban Counties. Eighty-nine Counties Lost A Combined 25,000 People. In Iowa Small Towns, The Population Continues To Decline. There Are Store And Hospital Closings, A Lack Of Mental Health Services, Drug Addiction And A Surge In Crime. On The Other Hand, Many Small Towns Are Making A Community Effort To Rebuild And Restore Their Downtown Areas. Declining Population Does Not Have To Mean A Decline In The Quality Of Life.
