In times of crisis, Americans come together as one. Old Glory proudly waves from porches up and down our streets and above buildings in great metropolises and small town squares. Camaraderie becomes commonplace as the country unites to defend its freedom.Lavishly presented, UNITED WE STAND! is a visual journey of the inspirational images of the 1940s that boosted the morale of our men and women in the Armed Forces and inspired those at home to support the war effort. It also is an important memorial to lives lost during all wars, and a reminder that liberty for all is a privilege worth defending. UNITED WE STAND! contains over 300 images of the American flag and eagle, Uncle Sam, Rosie the Riveter, posters of valiant nurses, comic postcards, "V" for Victory items, maps, and more. A special section offers guidelines on how and when to display the flag, a timeline of significant events of World War II, and patriotic questions and answers.

About the Author: A U.S. Navy veteran, RICHARD J. PERRY is a longtime collector of illustrated graphics from the twentieth century. Beginning with a core group of early calendar art, Perry has expanded his collection to include war-related items, such as magazines, newspapers, advertisements, posters, and pin-ups-in short, any and all print material expressing America's patriotism. Perry makes his residence in the Pacific Northwest.
